PUXICO, Mo. — Jimmie “JD” Dale Kelley, 65, of Puxico passed away Oct. 30, 2019, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 25, 1954, in Sikeston, son of James E. and Rozela Bailey Kelley.
JD was a Veteran of the U.S. National Guard, serving for six years. He was a skilled heavy equipment operator for over 40 years. He had worked as a superintendent with a few construction companies before he started his own business. He owned and operated JDK Excavating for 17 years. He was a wonderful storyteller, lover of horses, team roping and all things excavating. JD never met a stranger and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and true friend. He was the epitome of someone that would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He dearly loved his family.
JD and Mary Wright Holt were united in marriage on June 25, 1988, at Bloomfield, MO. and she survives of the home.
Survivors include: four sons, T.J. (Suzanne) Kelley of Troy, MO, Casey (Jessica) Kelley of Bloomfield, Edward (Rachel) Holt of Puxico and Jeremy (Renee) Holt of Puxico; a daughter, Michelle Kelley Chadwell of Nashville, TN; three brothers, Glenn (Joyce) Kelley of Bloomfield, Randy (Debra) Kelley of Bloomfield and Mark (Debbie) Kelley of McGee; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at 10 a.m. at the chapel with Brother George Chadwell and Brother Bill Adkison.
Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield.
