George Wichert Jr.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Mr. George John Wichert Jr., 61 of Cape Girardeau, died on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, in Benton, Ky. 

He was a self-employed rental property owner. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau and Benton, Ky. His favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, golfing and boating. 

Born Tuesday, May 13, 1958, in Union City, Tenn., he was the son of the late George John Wichert Sr. and the late Elizabeth “Betty” (Rothermel) Wichert. 

Surviving are his wife, Cathy (Cunningham) Wichert of Cape Girardeau; son, Coleman John Wichert, wife Laura, and future grandchild, Ryleigh Ann Wichert of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Taylor Ann Wichert of Cape Girardeau; and sister, Catherine Ann Wichert of Ponte Vera Beach, Fla.

A memorial Mass will be held at Old St. Vincent Church, 119 South Spanish St., Cape Girardeau, MO 63703 at 10 a.m. on Dec. 14, 2019. Burial will be family only.
