Portageville, Mo. - T’was a cold winter’s night on Portageville’s Main Street Friday night as folks came to watch the annual Christmas Parade.

To help fight off the cold, many sought out local merchants that were participating in the annual Coca Crawl. One had to partake

of the coca to determine who had the best tasting Hot Coca.

The event was sponsored by the Portageville Chamber of Commerce.

The winners of the Parade float contest included:

First Place, The Remnant House with The Grinch; Second Place, First State Bank and Trust Company with Mrs. Claus and rein deer; and Third Place, The Portageville Jaycees with Charlie Brown.

Winning the Coca Crawl by People’s Choice was Southern Loop.

Finally, the winner of the big tv raffle was Brenda McCrate.

“We really appreciated those folks that braved the wind and the cold who participated in the floats as well as those who came out and supported the parade,” said Dr. Clint Klipfel.
