PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — The Portageville Fire Department recently received upgrades to their fire station.

According to a post on Portageville’s Fire and Rescue Facebook page, the department thanked the Board of Alderman and mayor for approval of new electrical, air and water drops at the station as well as thanking those who installed the drops.

Having the air and electrical means the fire truck is ready to go at a moment’s notice with no more down time waiting on air to build up on the brakes.

“This is going save us anywhere from 3-5 minutes on response time and the water being on the ground means no more climbing on top of trucks to fill up with water making it safer for our fireman,” the post said.
