SIKESTON —Gordon Bruce Chapman II, 44, died Feb. 12, 2020, at his home in Sikeston.
Born Nov. 14, 1975, at Sikeston, son of Bruce Chapman of East Prairie and Carletta Welch Samons of Bertrand, he was a 1994 graduate of East Prairie High School. Having lived in Mississippi County most of his life, he attended the Mid-America College of Funeral Service at Jeffersonville, Ind., and later worked with custom fuels and Gates Rubber Company and most recently with the Drury Hotel Company. He was a member of the Charleston Masonic Lodge 407 AF&AM and the Elm Street Baptist Church at Charleston.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: his fiancee, Savannah Fliess of Sikeston; his maternal grandmother, Shelby Welch of Charleston; three daughters, Hayli Chapman of Mobile, Ala.; Bella Chapman of Charleston and Shelby Joyce Chapman of Sikeston; one brother, Christopher Chapman; one sister, Natalie Wescoat; and his stepmother, Marilyn Givens of East Prairie.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Micah Givens; his stepfather, Charlie Samons; his maternal grandfather, Walter Welch; and his paternal grandparents, Jack and Barbara Jackson Chapman.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Monday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Jon Archie, pastor of the Elm Street Baptist Church near Charleston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Steven Tatum, Benjamin Nally, Lee Welch, Carl Welch, Brice Chapman and Cole Branam.
