WILSON CITY, Mo. — Lommie Lane Jr., 62, died Feb. 28, 2020, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Aug. 31, 1957, in Cairo, Ill., son of Nona Brewster Lane of Wyatt and the late Lommie Lane Sr., he was of the Christian belief and attended Sanders Chapel A.M.E. Church and also served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.He graduated from Charleston High School in 1975. He attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. He worked for 20 years at Noranda Aluminum in New Madrid, Missouri, and he had also served as the mayor of Wilson City.
He was married for 15 years to Mary Farries Lane.
In addition to his mother, survivors include: two daughters, Sharonda Lane and Linda Lane; three sons, Laneze (Franeece) Lane, Gabriel Beasley and Allanta Maborn; his siblings, Vallorie Jones and Trent Lane; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Charleston with his brother, Trent Lane, officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
