Lape to serve as faculty at World Health Care Congress
SIKESTON – Deke Lape, an employee benefits consultant with Mitchell Insurance of Sikeston has been selected for the third-straight year to address the 17th Annual World Health Care Congress (WHCC) in Washington, D.C.
“Deke Lape is widely recognized as a national leader in innovative NextGen Benefits strategies that are revolutionizing employee benefits,” said Nelson Griswold, chairman of the WHCC Benefits Adviser Leadership Track. “We are privileged to have Deke sharing his experience and expertise at WHCC20.”
“It’s an honor to serve on the WHCC faculty,” said Lape. “I’m excited to speak to the esteemed attendees about our work with executives to take control of their company’s health care and how to spend and manage both the quality and cost of health care for the company and its employees.”
With 23 years of experience, Lape has rebranded the benefit division, now called D2E Health Plans, and works with employers of many industries, including manufacturing, not-for-profits, municipalities, education, and health care. He has extensive experience in both fully-insured and self-funded medical plan arrangements, consumer-driven plans, and worksite and ancillary benefits.
Lape is a 1997 graduate of the University of Missouri–Columbia. Since then, he has been active in his community as a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and serving on the board of directors for Missouri Delta Medical Center, YMCA of Southeast Missouri (past chairman), Sikeston Public Schools Board of Education (past president), and Sikeston Jaycees (past president). Deke and his wife, Jill, reside in Sikeston with their children Jay and Will.
