Helen Sibley
MATTHEWS, Mo. — Helen Sibley, age 97, passed away Monday, March 23, 2020, at her home in Matthews, Missouri.
She was born Aug. 14, 1922, in Canalou, Missouri, daughter of the late Adrian and Lena Martin McDaniel. She was a member of Matthews First Christian Church and had worked as secretary to the principal at the Matthews Grade School in Matthews before retiring.
On Dec. 24, 1939, she married Webster 'Webb' Allen Sibley; he preceded her in death Oct. 2, 1972.
Survivors include: one son, Webster Allan (Sharon) Sibley Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Jeannie Sibley of Matthews; one brother, Martin McDaniel of Patton, Missouri; one sister, Wynette Wait of Overland, Missouri; four grandchildren, Whitney (Michael) Sheppard, Michael Franklin Sibley, Joshua (Becky) Sibley, and Zacharia (Melinda) Sibley; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Joe Sibley.
There will be a private family viewing on Friday, March 27 at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
A public graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
