CHARLESTON, Mo. — Betty Jean Keener (Graham), 65, traded her home for a mansion in heaven at 2:35 a.m. on May 11, 2020, at her home in Charleston where she was surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born March 1, 1955, in Cairo, Illinois, to Joseph "Toots" and Veda Peevyhouse Graham. Betty welcomed a son, Robert G. Keener Jr., in 1974 and a daughter, Laurie Lee Keener Caid, in 1976. She adored and love her children. She was a stay-at-home mom, and they were her world. She did everything she could to make sure her children succeed in life.

Betty is survived by her children, Robert G. Keener Jr. of Charleston, Missouri; Laurie Lee (Branden) Caid of Benton, Missouri; sisters, Peggy Thurman of Miner, Missouri, and Carla (Johnny) Groves of Benton; brothers, Wayne Graham of Charleston, Jimmy (Linda) Graham of Wyatt, Missouri; Ronnie Graham of Miner and Steve Graham and Larry (Julie) Graham of St. Charles, Missouri; grandchildren, Austin Hamby of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Madison Hamby of Kentucky, Lucas and Allison Caid of Benton; great-grandchildren, David Wayne Hamby and Amelia Grace Hamby of Cape Girardeau. Betty had many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph " Toots" Graham and Veda Peevyhouse Graham; sisters, Bonnie McClendon and Debra Cohen; and brothers, Stanley Graham, Jake Graham and Danny Graham.

A celebration of Betty's life will be held at a later date at the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church officiated by Brother DeWayne Kirkpatrick. Updates will follow on Facebook.
