John E. Ray

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — John Edward “Johnny” Ray, 78, died May 16, 2020, at his home in East Prairie.

Born July 10, 1941, in East Prairie, son of the late Ernest and Jewel Brewington Ray, he was employed for 34 years at Procter & Gamble in Memphis, Tenn., where he retired as a foreman.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Jonna Ray and Charles Moffat of East Prairie and Michelle and Seth Geiger of Atoka, Tenn.; one sister, Barbara McKinley of East Prairie; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ernestine Hubbard.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Callum Reavey will officiate.

Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mitch Ray, Owen Ray, Charles Moffat, Seth Geiger, Bryson Hambick and Riley Brown.
