GALENA, Mo. — Jerry Edker Matlock, 78, formerly of Vanduser, Mo., and Morley, Mo., died May 1, 2020, at his home in Galena. Born Feb. 2, 1942, in Sikeston, Mo., son of the late Leslie and Viola Beavers Matlock, he was a graduate of Scott County Central Schools and lived in Vanduser and Morley until 1987. GALENA, Mo. — Jerry Edker Matlock, 78, formerly of Vanduser, Mo., and Morley, Mo., died May 1, 2020, at his home in Galena.

Born Feb. 2, 1942, in Sikeston, Mo., son of the late Leslie and Viola Beavers Matlock, he was a graduate of Scott County Central Schools and lived in Vanduser and Morley until 1987. He worked as a carpenter and served in the United States Army, serving in Germany and Fort Lewis, Wash.

His wife, Virley Matlock, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Tammy Matlock of the home and Kimberly and Tim Harp of Crane, Mo.; one son, Jerry Matlock of the home; two sisters, Francis Bradley and Cathy Parker of Conway, Ark.; and three grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William “Sonny” Matlock; and one grandson.

Services were conducted at 1 p.m. May 6 at Westrip Funeral Home in Crane.

Burial followed in the Nolan Cemetery at Galena.
