SIKESTON — A prayer walk will be held on Saturday mirroring the Washington 2020 Prayer March with Franklin Graham.

The First Baptist Church of Sikeston will be hosting the event on their campus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“A political party can’t save our country,” said Mathew Vroman, pastor at First Baptist Church. “God is the only one that can fix our communities. Prayer is the greatest thing we can do. I hope the whole community comes and prays with us.”

During the walk there will be stations set up that have pictures of the places in Washington DC the Washington 2020 Prayer March will be following. Those in attendance will receive a prayer guide.

While it is a walking tour, the stations are very close together. Masks are welcomed to be worn and social distancing is encouraged.

Vroman said he is hoping at least 70 to 100 come out from the community for the event.

The event is free and if there is rain it will be moved inside. Call 573-475-0779 for details.
