MATTHEWS, Mo. — Charles Bryon Shaw, age 78, of Matthews, Missouri, passed away, Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020, at the Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Missouri.
He was born July 29, 1942, in Whitehall, Illinois, to the late John David Shaw and Thelma Dossett.
Charles served in the United States Navy for four years and received an honorable discharge, then continued his service with the Army National Guard for 33 years.
He worked as a mechanic for Fleming before retiring and continued working in housekeeping at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was a member of the Murray Lane Baptist Church for many years.
On Nov. 2, 1963, he married Rosie Lewis who preceded him in death.
He is survived by one son, Martin Lee Shaw of Bertrand; one daughter-in-law Lisa Shaw of Matthews; one brother Donnie Jean (Betty) Shaw of Fisk, and one sister, Cheryl (Frank) Becker of Bowling Green, Missouri; three grandchildren, Ben, Breanna, and Harrison, and one great-grandchild, Arianna; and a very special nephew, Earl (Jennifer) Bohnert, of Bertrand, Missouri.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Allen Lewis Shaw, and Charles Bryon Shaw; and one brother, John David Shaw.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Interment will follow immediately at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston with Full Military Honors.
