Seven virus deaths reported in Scott County since Friday

Seven deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported in Scott County since Friday.

The Scott County Health Department reported six deaths between Friday to Tuesday afternoon and another death, the county’s 27th, was reported Wednesday.

An additional 40 positive cases were reported late Wednesday afternoon while 25 more people have fully recovered. As of Wednesday afternoon, there were 261 active cases in Scott County with 1,240 recoveries.

The New Madrid County Health Department reported 11 new cases on Wednesday, leaving the county with 46 active cases and 786 out of quarantine. There have been 20 deaths in New Madrid since the pandemic began.

There are 180 active cases in Stoddard County as 22 new cases were reported on Wednesday by the Stoddard County Public Health Center. There have been 891 recoveries and 22 deaths in the county.

In Cape Girardeau County, where a mask order was continued earlier this week, there are 561 active cases, an increase of 14. There have been 50 deaths and 2,350 have recovered according to the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center.

The Pemiscot County Health Center announced their 18th death related to the virus Wednesday afternoon.

There is currently 52 active cases in Pemiscot County with three hospitalizations and 733 have been released from isolation.

Dunklin County saw the number of active cases increase by 25 on Wednesday, as the county now has 175. Officials report there have been 11 deaths since March and 1,157 recoveries.

Mississippi County did not have updated numbers as of 5 p.m. Wednesday.
