NEW MADRID, Mo. — John L. Odom, 70, passed away, Friday, Dec. 25, 2020, at his home.
A celebration of life will be held from noon to 3 pm. Tuesday, Dec. 29 at his home, 633 Riley St., New Madrid. Burial will follow immediately after Evergreen Cemetery, New Madrid.
On Aug. 28, 1971, he married Ann Stellato.
John was employed with Noranda Aluminum until his retirement after 40 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed piddling in his shop during his free time. If you needed to find him … look in the shop. He was a member of Aerie 4203 Eagles and a Booster Member of American Legion 595.
John is survived by his wife, Ann and their two children, Samantha Odom-Patterson (Bobby)of Ozark, Alabama, and John Christopher Odom (Tina) of New Madrid. He had the pleasure of loving seven grandchildren, Kimberly Patterson (Hunter) of Ariton, Alabama; Mason Olds (Hayden) of Brundidge, Alabama; Anna Cate Haddan of Ozark, Alabama; Allie Odom (Alan) of Burton, Ohio; Abbie Odom of Madison, Ohio; Katelyn Calvarese of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Dylan Williams of New Madrid. He had the joy of three precious great-grandchildren, Jon Rylan (Kimberly and Hunter); Chase “Maddox” Olds (Mason and Hayden) and Alan (Allie and Alan).
He is preceded in death by his father, Vaughn Odom; son-in-law, Terry Patterson; and nephew Ryan Odom. He is survived by his mother, Ada Odom; brother, Larry Odom (Marsha); and nephew Justin Odom.
