PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. - The New Madrid County Library is gearing up for the 2021 Summer Reading Program.

“Empowering Youngsters for Early School Success” will be presented in two-hour sessions once monthly at each of the New Madrid County Library’s seven branches during June and July. This year’s theme is “Tails & Tales” with a focus on animals and their habitats. 

All dates are open to New Madrid County boys and girls ages 5-10. 

Pre-registration is now under way. To pre-register call your local branch or speak with Susan or Mona at the Portageville branch/headquarters, 573-379-3583. 

The program will be offered from 9:30-11:30 a.m. June 5 and July 10 at the Portageville Library; from 2-4 p.m. June 16 and July 28 at the Gideon Library; from 2-4 p.m. June 22 and July 23 at the Matthews Library; from 2-4 p.m. June 25 and July 27 at the Morehouse Library; from 2-4 p.m. June 24 and July 29 at the New Madrid Library; from 2-4 p.m. June 8 and July 9 at the Parma Library; and from 2-4 p.m. June 15 and July 20 at the Risco Library.
