Mary Edith Cato, 94, of Puxico, passed away July 25, 2021 at the Delta South Nursing and Rehab Center in Sikeston. She was born July 8, 1927 at Essex, Missouri, the daughter of Richard Deen and Anna Mae Barks Esarey. Mary spent her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Mary Edith Cato, 94, of Puxico, passed away July 25, 2021 at the Delta South Nursing and Rehab Center in Sikeston. She was born July 8, 1927 at Essex, Missouri, the daughter of Richard Deen and Anna Mae Barks Esarey.

Mary spent her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a member of the Oak Grove General Baptist Church.

Mary and Arzie Cato were united in marriage on Dec. 27, 1947 and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2008.

Survivors include: a son, Dale (Joann) Cato of Sikeston; a daughter, Edith Seabaugh of Advance; eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 27, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 28, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Gary Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, Missouri.
