John Scarbrough
SIKESTON — John Scarbrough, age 90, passed away on Aug. 9, 2021, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born on March 23, 1931, in Blodgett, Missouri, to the late William and Fanny Adams Scarbrough.
On July 26, 1956, he married Shelby Sitz Scarbrough who preceded him in death on Nov. 12, 2000.
He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Sikeston.
He served in the United States Army and later retired from the United States Postal Service in 1986 after 33 years of service.
He is survived by three daughters and three sons-in-law, Marsha (Mike) Riney of Sikeston, Michele (Alan) Westfall of Ellisville, Missouri, and Melinda (Todd) Priebe of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; two grandchildren, Zach (Krista) Westfall of Eureka, Missouri, and Ben (Melia) Westfall of Mobile, Alabama.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Scarbrough and Bill Scarbrough; one sister, Bessie Scarbrough.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2021 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Brother Jerry Adams officiating.
Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri, with military Honors.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Riney, Todd Priebe, Alan Westfall, Zach Westfall, Ben Westfall and Greg Sitz.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Southern and Carl Bogle.
