MORLEY, Mo. — Donnie Lynn Johnson, age 88, passed away on Aug. 16, 2021 at his home in Morley.

He was born on March 12, 1933, in Sikeston, to the late Roy and Hallie Wyatt Johnson.

He was a member of Morley Baptist Church in Morley.

Donnie had a servant’s heart; he served in the United States Air Force., he served as a Scott County Sheriff’s Reserve Officer for over 30 years; he had served as a volunteer fireman for the Morley Fire Department, and he worked for the Scott County Ambulance Service for 16 years before retiring in 1995.

On Feb. 20, 1954, in Hernando, Mississippi, he married Kaye Seymour Johnson who preceded him in death on Oct. 29, 2019.

Survivors include: one son, David “Chip” (Cheryl) Johnson of Morley; three daughters, Leah Somers of Morley, Donna (Mike) Watkins of Sikeston and Leslie (Steve) Rhyne of Carterville, Illinois.; daughter-in-law, Sandra Johnson of Wyatt, Missouri; one brother, Billie (Mary) Johnson of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Jo Ann Lambert of Sikeston and Bonnie Stinski of Healdsburg, California.; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and three special friends, Lisa Radica, Kathy Jackson and Andrew Cheaney.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three sons, Danny Johnson, Ricky Johnson and Jimmy Johnson; a son-in-law, Wallace Somers; six sisters; and three brothers.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug, 18, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Morley Baptist Church in Morley with Brother David Thompson, pastor at Morley Baptist Church, and Bill Gadberry Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery in Morley.

Pallbearers will be: Michael Johnson, Gary Mize Jr., Sean Zeman, Ryan Zeman, James Williams, Andrew Cheaney and Dale Kincade.
