Police looking for escaped Chaffee inmate

CHAFFEE, Mo. — Law enforcement is seeking an inmate that escaped custody from a Chaffee jail.

According to a release from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday afternoon, at approximately 10:59 p.m. Monday, the Sheriff’s office was requested to assist the Chaffee Police Department with an inmate who escaped custody.

The inmate is Austin Mason, 20, who is in custody on numerous felony charges.

Mason, a white male, was last seen wearing a blue shirt and black shorts or pants. It is believed that Mason was picked up inside Chaffee and taken to an unknown location.

Mason is known to frequent Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
