Robert Merrell
SIKESTON — Robert Lenard Merrell, age 56, of Sikeston, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Aug. 15, 1965, at Sikeston, to Glenna Jones Merrell, who survives of Sikeston and the late Albert Junior Merrell. He had lived in Sikeston his entire life, playing baseball and football in high school. He received the presidential scholarship upon graduation and had attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and also the DeVry Institute. He was an avid golfer and bowler for many years. He bowled several 300 games.
Surviving besides his mother is his brother, Albert Lee Merrell of Sikeston; his sister, Laura Lynn Denton of Sikeston; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Linda Kay Heuring and Peggy Jean Hopper.
Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Interment will in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
