Linda Meals
SIKESTON — Linda (Montgomery) Meals went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at the age of 76 years.
She was born on May 23, 1945, to the late Joe Raymond Montgomery and Maudie (Abernathy) Denton.
She was a member of the Morley Baptist Church in Morley, Missouri. She graduated from Scott County Central in 1963. Linda had worked at Morley Farm Supply, Hedrick Concrete and NovaBrick Mid America. She enjoyed taking care of and being friends with other people, but most of all she loved being with her family.
Survivors include: one son Brent and daughter-in-law LaDona Montgomery of Lawrence, Kansas; two brothers, Bobby Joe (Dorothy) Montgomery of Oran, Missouri, and Danny Denton of Benton, Missouri; four sisters, Peggy Chapman of Morley, Diana Johnson of Sikeston, Gail Butren of Branson, Missouri, and Carolyn Denton of Bloomfield, Missouri; four grandsons, Lawson Montgomery, Landon Montgomery, Preston Montgomery and Parker Montgomery; one great-grandson, Lincoln Montgomery. Also surviving are one aunt, several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard Montgomery; grandparents, Henry and Levadie Abernathy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Morley Baptist Church in Morley with Brother David Thompson officiating.
Burial will follow in New Morley Cemetery in Morley, MO.
Pallbearers will be: Lawson Montgomery, Landon Montgomery, Preston Montgomery, Parker Montgomery, Michael Montgomery and Jimmy Lovel.
