ESSEX, Mo. — Ruben Clinton Hubbert, age 80, passed away, Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, at his home in Essex.

He was born July 20, 1941, in Fayette, Alabama, to the late Eulas and Sylivia (Tidwell) Hubbert.

After graduating from the New Madrid County Central High School, he joined the United States Marine Corps.

He had been a leader in the Boy Scouts of America, active in the American Legion Post 114 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 3319.

He is survived by four sons, Ruben Hubbert of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Randy Hubbert of Poplar Bluff, Rick Hubbert of Sikeston, and Steven Henson of Sikeston; four daughters Rhonda Norwood of Pulaski, Tennessee, Holly Henson of Sikeston, Robin Vasquez of Sikeston, and Keasha Hubbert of Dexter, Missouri.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lee Nelson and Marge St. Mary.

Memorial service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Interment will be held at a later date at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
