Rev. Robert R. Medlock
SIKESTON — Rev. Robert R. Medlock, 88, of Sikeston passed away Oct. 23, 2021, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born Sept. 29, 1933, in Neely’s Landing, Missouri, and was the son of Fred and Lucille Medlock. He and Bernice Louise Bates were married June 5, 1954. She passed away Feb. 2, 2010.
Brother Bob was ordained into the ministry on Nov. 19, 1961. He served seven churches from 1962-1995. During his life, he led many people to faith in Christ, and as a pastor, counseled and encouraged many to continue to grow in their walk with the Lord. His desire was that all would know the love of Jesus like he did.
Loving survivors include: one son, Robert “Chuck” (Jean) Medlock of New Madrid, Missouri, and three daughters, Debbie Atchley of Vienna, Illinois, Rose Medlock of Sikeston and Judy (Johnny) Noe of Idalia, Missouri.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Louise Medlock; one daughter, Carol Louise Thurman; one daughter-in-law, Terri Medlock; and two sisters, Anna Bullard and Laura Etta Craft.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Missouri.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. with the Brother Joe McCullough officiating and longtime friend, Pastor Jim Walker, assisting.
Interment will follow at New Bethel Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Steven Sparlin, Jason Simpson, Jayme Milam, Brad Kimball, Elijah Kimball and Joey Isbell.
Honorary Pallbearers are grandsons Caleb Powell, Daniel Houston, Mason Isbell, Braylon Bowser and Jackson Simpson.
