Emogean Mays
DEXTER, Mo. — Emogean Mays, age 95, passed away on Oct. 25, 2021, at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter.
She was born on June 12, 1926, in Sandy Ridge, Arkansas, to the late Floyd and Eva Pivas Bell. On Nov. 3, 1947, in Marston, Missouri, she married Dick Mays who preceded her in death on April 12, 2003.
Emogean was a member at Miner Baptist Church in Miner, Missouri.
She is survived by two sons, Nathan Mays of Sikeston, Missouri, and Ronald (Donna) McDaniel of Sikeston; two daughters, Carlois (Dewey) Holmes of Bloomfield, Missouri, and Marcia (Mark) Woollums of Dexter; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, one son and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at 10 a.m. with Brother Jim Matthews, officiating.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Tim Comstock, Butch Gamache, Eric Talley, Tony Beeson, Trent Beeson and Wayne Holmes.
