Betty Childers
SIKESTON — Betty Lou Childers, age 84, passed away Dec. 27, 2021, surrounded by her family at her home in Sikeston.
She was born Oct. 20, 1937, in Missouri, daughter of the late Richard and Blanche Ingram. She worked for VNA Hospice before retiring.
She was married to Billy Childers; he preceded her in death.
She is survived by three sons, Alan (Terri) Childers of Ohio, Ronnie (Chris) Childers, and Larry Childers all of Sikeston; one daughter-in-law, Linda Childers; one brother, Jim (Sue) Ingram of Kentucky; four sisters, Linda McNair, Peggy Reed, Sheila Holder and Sanda Henry; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Mark Childers and John Childers; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Childers; four brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 31 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Missouri.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery at Charleston, Missouri.
