CHARLESTON, Mo. — Mary Frances “Fran” Rose, age 75, passed away, Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, surrounded by her loving family and friends, at her home in Charleston.

She was born Aug. 21, 1946, in Rector, Arkansas, to the late Coy Receil Crosno and Helen Lorene (Patterson) Crosno.

Fran grew up and graduated High School in Hammond, Indiana. On June 27, 1985, at the Hargraves Baptist Church in Rector, she married Carl Fredrick Rose who survives of the home in Charleston.

Fran was always full of life; she spent the majority of her life in restaurant management and had worked at Cheer’s in Sikeston before retiring as a homemaker. She spent all her life taking care of others and placing them before herself. She had a personality that was bigger than the world and everyone who met her would tell you that. She was first and foremost a woman of faith and a longtime member of the St. James General Baptist Church in East Prairie, an active member of the ladies auxiliary of the Charleston VFW Post 4294 and a community volunteer, cooking for anyone who was in need. Her smile lit up any room she would enter and has left a tremendous number of memories to last a lifetime.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Carl (Drew) Rose of Sikeston, Missouri, and Charles “Butch” Neal of Nashville, Tennessee; four stepchildren, Steven Rose of Rector, Danny (Heather) Rose of Marble Hill, Missouri, Michael Rose of Sikeston and Lisa (Tom) Seal of Paragould, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Novie Rose, Kayla Neal, Ryan Neal, Gary Bullinger, Dustin Robinson and Faith (Jon Alan) Different; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of stepgrandchildren, great-stepgrandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Davis; one son, James “Tony” Seagroves; two grandchildren, Shawn and Shana Seagroves; and one brother, Billy Joe Crosno.

Friends may call Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at the St. James General Baptist Church in East Prairie; the Rev. David Dowdy will officiate.

Interment will follow immediately at the Dogwood Cemetery in Dogwood, Missouri, under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
