J.R. Reece

SIKESTON — James “J.R.” Lee Reece, age 84, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday April 8, 2022, at his home in Sikeston.

He was born on Jan. 3, 1938, in Gideon, Missouri, son of the late Lee and Roxada Shimpson Reece.

On Dec. 18, 1982, in Sikeston, he married Connie Chapman Reece who survives of the home.

He was a member of Trinity Gospel Church in Sikeston.

Survivors include: two sons, Joel Reece of California and James Lee Reece of Washington State; and one sister Ann Garrison of Desloge, Missouri; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters, one son and one grandson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Pastors Sidney Watson of Trinity Gospel Church in Sikeston and Larry Lacey officiating.

Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Justin Reece, Luke Reece, Joe Garrison, Jacob Garrison, Doug Copeland, and Allen Lancaster.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Carl Bogle and Mr. Bixler.
