Arkansas man killed in Pemiscot County crash

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. — An Arkansas man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday in Pemiscot County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 8:55 a.m. on Interstate 55, one mile south of Caruthersville, as the northbound vehicle driven by Derek Waddell, 31, of Paragould, Arkansas, crossed the median and struck the southbound vehicle driven by Courtney E. Lemons, 30, of Atoka, Tennessee, head-on.

Waddell was pronounced dead at West Tennessee Healthcare in Dyersburg, Tennessee, and transported to the Dyer County, Tennessee, Morgue.

Lemons received minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to West Tennessee Healthcare.
