SIKESTON — Gloria Don Waldman, age 87, passed away April 17, 2022, at her home in Sikeston.

She was born Aug. 6, 1934, in Braggadocio, Missouri, daughter of the late Albert and Lois Beasley.

On Nov. 1, 1953, at Hernando, Mississippi, she married Robert Joseph Waldman. He preceded her in death in 1987.

Gloria retired from Sikeston Public Schools after 30 years of dedicated service as a Teacher’s Aide. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Sikeston and served as nursery caregiver for many years.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary (Ron) Barnes of Sikeston, Barbara Droddy of Sikeston, Elaine (Donnie) Leek of Nashville, Tennessee, and Sandra (Kevin) Landers of Sikeston; one sister, Brenda Smith of Morehouse, Missouri; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Beasley; and one sister, Betty Wolfram.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home inSikeston.

Interment will follow the funeral service at Sikeston City Cemetery located at the intersections of South Kingshighway and West Murray Lane. Officiating the services will be Pastor Matthew Vroman of the First Baptist Church of Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Nick Barnes, Bobby Landers, Chris Barnes, Richard Landers, Scott Droddy and Tyler Leek.
