MALDEN, Mo. — A suspect wanted for his role in a shooting in Malden, Missouri is in custody.

Aaron D. Cooper was arrested Friday night with help from the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department after being sought by the Malden Police Department for an incident on Aug. 11.

According to the Malden PD, a subject was walking down the street and Cooper allegedly came by in a vehicle and shot at the subject and then fled officers.

Cooper is charged with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, first degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm and resisting/interfering with arrest for a felony.

Cooper is being held on $250,000 cash only bond and was set for his initial appearance in court on Tuesday morning.
