SIKESTON — William “Bill” Calvin Colwick Jr., age 68, passed away on Oct. 6, 2022, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born on Sept. 20, 1954, in Sikeston, to the late William “Bill” Calvin and Maxine Lewis Colwick.

On April 12, 1980, in Sikeston, he married Donna Williams Colwick who survives of the home in Sikeston.

Bill graduated from Sikeston High School in 1973. Bill was an exceptional athlete. He excelled on the gridiron; during his football career, he broke all the passing records at Sikeston High School. A former competitor said, “Bill had a golden arm.” Following high school, he was the quarterback at Southeast Missouri for two years. He retired from Noranda Aluminum Inc. in 2012 after 31 years of service.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Roy (Stephanie) Colwick of Sikeston; one daughter, Jessica Colwick of Benton, Missouri; one brother, Greg (Lisa) Colwick of Sikeston; one sister, Carla Colwick of Sikeston; three grandchildren, Ainsley Colwick, Kensi Colwick and Lilee Householder; two nieces, Sarah (Scott) Barnes of St. Louis, Missouri, and Rachael (Mark) Moore of Farmington, Missouri; one nephew, Seth (Betsy) Colwick of Sikeston; and several cousins and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Jason Williams, pastor of First Christian Church in Sikeston, officiating.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Rick Laplant, Steve Lambert, David Hough, David Hahs, David Tongate and Kevin Ward.
