BARLOW, Ky. — Charlene L. Thresher, 72, formerly of East Prairie, Missouri, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, at her home in Barlow.

Charlene was born Sept. 1, 1950, in Mississippi County, Missouri, to her mother, Ruth Louise Parker Hicks, and her stepfather who raised her, Charles Randolph Hicks, she grew up in East Prairie and was a 1968 graduate of East Prairie High School. In 1975, she and her husband moved to Barlow, where they made their home of 47 years.

Charlene loved her family, especially her Parker Cousins, and was always ready to step up for any event or need in their lives. She was a master crafter, seamstress, talented artist, and especially loved cooking. She was of Baptist belief.

On Dec. 7, 1968, she married Eli Gary Thresher, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are her children, Benjie Thresher, Matt Thresher and Jodie Thresher; her brother, Charles “Eddie” Hicks, as well as several nieces, nephews, and as well as her extended Thresher and Parker families.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her stepfather; and her sister, Brenda.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Martin Lucas of East Prairie will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
