The Ground-A-Bout purchases Parengo Coffee; Name will change but location, faces will remain same

In 2023, Parengo Coffee in Historic Downtown Sikeston, Missouri, will become the latest location for The Ground-A-Bout, a local coffee company based out of Jackson, Missouri.

Longtime friend of Parengo, Bob Schooley, and his team will soon be taking over all operations, Parengo announced early Monday via its Facebook page.

“The Parengo family is excited for this next step and wants to thank everyone for supporting us over the past 10 years,” the post said. “We want to encourage all of our Parengo friends and family to support Bob and his team as we welcome them to the Downtown Sikeston community.”

Even through this change, things will remain familiar, Parengo officials said.

“You’ll still be able to get a wonderful cup of fresh coffee; you’ll still be able to use your leftover Parengo gift cards, and you will still see the same smiling faces of our staff!

The post continued: “You may no longer see the name of Parengo on the door, but the same spirit of service and lovers of coffee will remain. It’s been an honor serving you all, and we look forward to many more years of service to come under this new name!”

The Ground-A-Bout also shared the news at the same time on Monday.

“We are opening our third location right in the heart of Downtown Sikeston in January,” the coffee company said in its post.

The Ground-A-Bout purchased the building and will take control of all Parengo Coffee shop operations.

“The Parengo shop family helped us start our shop in Jackson over six years ago and now we've come full circle,” The-Ground-A-Bout officials said. “What an honor. They've been open at this (Sikeston) location over eight years and have an impeccable reputation that we fully intend to keep and grow.”
