Benton man faces first-degree assault charge
SCOTT CITY, Mo. — A Benton, Missouri man faces a felony assault charge following an alleged incident in Scott City.
Henry Lee Norris Jr., 20, of Benton is charged with first-degree assault through Scott County,
According to Capt. Chris Griggs with the Scott City Police Department, at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, officers with Scott City Police Department responded to a residence in reference to an assault. It was reported that an assault had occurred, and the suspect left the residence prior to officers’ arrival, Griggs said.
Officers arrived on the scene and contacted emergency medical services to aid the victim, who was later taken to the hospital for treatment. Officers investigated the scene and spoke to witnesses and were able to identify the suspect of the assault as Norris, Griggs said.
The information was sent out to local agencies, and Norris was later located and arrested by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken to the Scott City jail where he is being held without bond.
