Shirley Martin
SIKESTON — Shirley Jean Martin, age 85, passed away on May 23, 2023, at her home in Sikeston.
She was born on July 23, 1937, in Manila, Arkansas, to the late Claude and Marguerite Owens Deason.
On Sept. 19, 1954, in Hernando, Mississippi, she married Billy Martin who preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 2021.
She is survived by one son, Jeff (Karen) Martin of Sikeston; three daughters, Donna (Larry) Layton of Dexter, Missouri, Cynthia (King) Sidwell of Sikeston and Jill (Mike) McGill of Sikeston; one brother, Robert (Norma) Deason of McMinnville, Tennessee; two sisters, Barbara (Wendell) Williams of Franklin, Tennessee, and Janice (James) Falkner of Odessa, Florida; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston with Evangelist Johnny Hester and Keith Olbricht officiating.
Interment will follow in the Blodgett Cemetery in Blodgett, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Brock Wooley, Adam Martin, Trent Sidwell, Jess Gleason, Benjamin Martin and Clint Gleason.
