SIKESTON – Henry Eckles Jr., resident of Sikeston died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023. He was born May 27, 1966, in Dundee, Mississippi, to the late Henry Eckles, Sr., and the late Murlean Gladney Eckles. SIKESTON – Henry Eckles Jr., resident of Sikeston died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023. He was born May 27, 1966, in Dundee, Mississippi, to the late Henry Eckles Sr. and the late Murlean Gladney Eckles.

He confessed his love for Christ and was a member of Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston. He was a drummer and served the Lord through his love of music.

Henry was a graduate of Sikeston High School in Sikeston.

His family and friends meant the world to him. Henry loved spending time with them, cracking jokes, and putting a smile on their faces. He will be missed dearly.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, W.C. Eckles; his sister, Vercie L. Redd-Smith; and his stepsister, Bernice Boyd.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories one son, Henry Eckles III of Atlanta, Georgia, three daughters, Shaquaia (Travis) Twiggs-Stokes of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Aubrionna Eckles of Atlanta and Jerrica Eckles of St. Louis, Missouri; seven brothers, Hosie (Joyce) Gladney and Leslie Joe Eckles both of Memphis, Tennessee, and Joseph Glen Eckles, Michael Eckles, Sr., Josh Boyd, Mose Boyd, and Aaron Boyd all of Sikeston, Missouri; seven sisters, Prince (Steve) Gibson of St. Louis, and Ennis Eckles Ray, Brenda Sue Grant, Stephanie (Tyrone) Price, Lendia Boyd Driver, Laura Boyd and Sharon Boyd all of Sikeston; eight grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at 11 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church in Sikeston.

Interment will follow in Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston with the Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
