SIKESTON, Mo.— Elizabeth Ann Parker, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, at her home in Sikeston, Missouri. She was born on Sept. 21, 1937, in Waverly, Tennessee, to the late Charlie and Mamie Buchanan Winters. On Dec. 17, 1955, in Matthews, Missouri, she married Wayne Parker who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2023...

SIKESTON, Mo.— Elizabeth Ann Parker, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, at her home in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born on Sept. 21, 1937, in Waverly, Tennessee, to the late Charlie and Mamie Buchanan Winters.

On Dec. 17, 1955, in Matthews, Missouri, she married Wayne Parker who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2023.

She was a member of Matthews First Missionary Baptist Church in Matthews.  

Elizabeth was known as Nana to those who knew her. She was always on the go with her grandkids or could be found helping at church.

She is survived by one son, Danny (Tracy) Parker of New Madrid, Missouri; one daughter, Patricia Curry of Union City, Tennessee; one sister, Helen York of Sikeston; six grandchildren, Joshua Parker, Jackson Parker, Logan (Jordan) Turner, Danielle Johnson, Beth (Kyle) Bowers and Katie (Matt) Givens and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Winters and Davis Winters; one sister, Mary Lou McCarson and one grandchild, Rebecca Curry.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Bro. Chris Polk, pastor of Matthews First Missionary Baptist Church and Bro. Ed Stephens of Conway, Arkansas officiating.            

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be her nephews Tim McCarson, David York Jr., Phil Winters, Gary Kennedy, Gary Lee Kennedy, David Parker, Dwight Johnson, Matt Winters, John Mills, Richard Mills, Ricky Parker, Steve Parker, Ryan Parker, Chad Parker, Aaron Gold, Micah Hans and Kenny Acton.
