SIKESTON — Norma Jean Robinson affectionately known as "Jean", was born Nov. 30, 1947, in Bell City, Missouri, to the union of Vallet Walker Sr. and Florence Lee Walker Coleman. She was one of four children born to that union being the only girl and three boys. Her parents and three brothers, Calvin Walker, Vallet Walker Jr. and Willie B. Walker Sr., preceded her in death.

She passed away on Jan. 5, 2024, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She attended school in Bell City. Shortly after, she moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she met and married her late husband Wilson Wright. After a period of time, she moved back to Missouri to take care of her mother. Norma was a dedicated hard worker. She worked at Hunter Acres Caring Center for 25-plus years until she retired. She adopted three boys, Larrell, La'Ron and Brandon.

Jean professed her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of New Covenant Church under the leadership of Calvin Bird. She was also a proud member of Eastern Star serving as the Past Worthy Matron of the Rose of Sharon Chapter 4 O.E.S. of Sikeston.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 28 years, Glen Robinson of Licking, Missouri; three sons, Larrell Wright (Jamie) of Charleston, Missouri, La'Ron (Exzavia) Wright of Sikeston, Brandon (Amorette) Wright of Sikeston; 17 grandchildren; one uncle, Nelvin Walker of Las Vegas, Nevada; one aunt, Rosie Lee Bronner of St. Louis, Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Services will be Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at Green Memorial Church. The wake will begin at 11 a.m. and funeral services will follow at noon.

Internment will be at Pullen Cemetery, Bell City.
