BENTON, Mo. — James “Rick” Phillips, son of Katherine “Granny” Bacchus Phillips of Chaffee, Missouri, and the late Sherman Vick Phillips, was born on Jan. 20, 1950 in Elgin, Illinois, and departed his life on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and the age of 74 years.

Rick was a former Welder with CTS for many years and a former employee of Heartland Supportive Living. He was a member of the Powerhouse of God Church in East Prairie, Missouri and a resident of Benton.

He was united in marriage to Tammy Singlenton in 1991 at Benton. She survives of the home in Benton.

Besides his mother and wife, he is survived by one son, Kelly (Amy) Phillips of Oran, Missouri; one daughter, Cathryn (Mike) Gramlisch of Jackson, Missouri; one brother, Rodney Phillips of Oran; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren;

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two sons, James Allen Phillips and Bobby Gene Phillips; one brother, Larry Phillips and by one sister, Pamela Melissa Pobst.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Oran. Funeral services will then be conducted on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating.

Interment will follow at the Williams Cemetery in Perkins, Missouri.
