SIKESTON, Mo. — A Sikeston man is in custody on drug charges.
Zachary Lee Aldrich, 37, was arraigned Monday, June 10 on charges of first degree trafficking of drugs or attempt, unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon.
According to the probable cause statement by Zachary Graham, an investigator with the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, officers served a search warrant at a residence at 125 Barnett St. in Sikeston on June 6. During a search of a camper parked in the driveway at the residence, officers found a loaded handgun, a bag with 12 bullets, along with a bag which field-tested positive as methamphetamine, another bag which field-tested positive as cocaine and a third bag believed to be crack cocaine. Officers also found a number of pills, digital scales and other drug paraphernalia in the camper.
Aldrich, who entered a plea of not guilty, is to return to court on Thursday, June 13. Currently he is being held in the Mississippi County Jail, with bond set at $25,000 cash only.
