James Nickell
SIKESTON — James Michael Nickell, age 62, passed away on June 19, 2024, at his home in Sikeston.
He was born on July 25, 1961, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to the late James and Linda Holmes Nickell.
James “Mike” Nickell was a loving and devout father first and foremost. He loved BIG and he loved hard, always striving to be kind and patient even if his own day or week had not been ideal. Mike never failed to look at the bright side of things — one thing he bestowed deeply as a favorite quality his loved ones always recognized. The world lost one of the biggest hearts a man can carry, along with a man the world could use more of.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff (Kelsie) Nickell of Sikeston; one brother, Gregory Nickell of Sikeston; and one grandson, Cooper Nickell.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
