Linda Mae Castleberry

SIKESTON — Linda Mae Castleberry, affectionately known as “Mama Lynn,” was born Dec. 5, 1951, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Alvin Seuell and Lavern Simmons. She was one of 10 children on her mother’s side and one of eight children on her father’s side. Her parents; four brothers, Gene Autry Bradley, Robert Seuell, Alvin Seuell Jr., Donald Jay Seuell; and two sisters, Glendoria Seuell Adams and Ernestine Simmons, preceded her in death.

She stayed in Missouri until age 16 when she moved to Chicago where she met and married her late husband Charles Castleberry. She resided in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and after a period of time, she moved back to Missouri where she would stay for the rest of her life. Lynn professed her life to Christ at an early age. She attended Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Parma, Missouri, occasionally. Lynn was the life of the party! She loved Denzel Washington, to cook, sing and dance! She had one daughter, Keeyana (Kay Kay) and one son, Anthony (Tugga), whom she loved deeply. Linda was all about her family and loved spending time with her granny babies! Linda’s health took a turn for the worse in July of 2017. She never let her health get the best of her and fought a good fight! On July 18, 2024, Linda took her last peaceful breath at the Hunter Acres Caring Center facility of Sikeston.

She leaves to cherish her memory: 10 siblings, Leander Seuell, Dave “Rick” Seuell, Marcia Beverly all of Parma, Debra Seuell of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Alzine Seuell, Linda Seuell, Loria Seuell, Gwania Seuell, Louise Seuell and Fitzgerl Seuell all of Benton Harbor; her daughter, Keeyana (Dominique) Valentine and her son Anthony (Johnae) Valentine both of Sikeston; seven grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation is from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27 at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
