SIKESTON — The Sikeston Public Schools Foundation received a donation earlier this year from the Sikeston Jaycees. According to SPS Foundation Liaison Natalie Coppage, the Jaycees wanted their donation to go to teacher recruitment and retention, and with the help of SPS Foundation and Sikeston R-6 Superintendent Shannon Holifield, they decided the best use was to welcome and thank Sikeston Public Schools’ new teachers with gift cards to use for their new classrooms. Sikeston Jaycee President Hunter Crowley came to the New Teacher Orientation Tuesday, July 30 at the Sikeston Field House and presented every new teacher with a $250-gift card.
