Vance Raines
SIKESTON — Vance Billie Raines, age 87, passed away on Aug. 7, 2024, at his home in Sikeston.
He was born on July 14, 1937, in Sikeston, to the late Orrin “Pete” and Ornice Moore Raines.
On May 24, 1958, in Sikeston, he married Patricia Harris who preceded him in death on Jan. 24, 2015.
He served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960.
He was the street superintended for the City of Sikeston for over 17-1/2 years.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald (Barbara) Raines of Colombia, Missouri, and Vance D. (Melissa) Raines of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one daughter, Phyllis Clark of Sikeston; four sisters, Peggy Goolsby of Riffle, Colorado, Hernietta Raines of Crested Butte, Colorado, Gavin (Steve) Holcomb of Crested Butte, Colorad and Ora Lea (Jim) Germanaro of Anaheim, California; six grandchildren, Jacqueline Raines, Nicholas Raines, Misti Clark, Joshua Clark, Summer Hannah and Devin Raines; and two great-grandchildren, Raegan Fisher, Robin Fisher.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. at Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston.
Interment will be held on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri, with full military honors.
