Joyce Hixon
BERTRAND, Mo. — Joyce Elaine Hixon, age 92, passed away on Aug. 12, 2024, at Bertrand Nursing and Rehab facility in Bertrand.
She was born on Dec. 27, 1931, in McCook, Nebraska, to Kenneth and Audrey Stephen Daniels.
Joyce worked as a Dental Assistant for many years and dedicated her time volunteering at Missouri
Delta Community Hospital. She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church and Grace Bible Fellowship Church.
She is survived by her brother, Richard (Peggy) Daniels; sister, Janet McDonald; daughter, Marsha
Mitchell; son, Michael Hixon (Jackie); grandsons, Rob and Bryan Mitchell, Derrick, Darin, and Justin
Hixon, as well as great-grandchildren, Zac Hixon, Leah Hixon, Anna Mitchell, Morgan Luttrell,
Savannah Booth and Cole Mitchell.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Clinton Daniels; and her beloved husband Maurice Hixon.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri, with Danny Kuykendall, pastor of Christ Methodist Church in Sikeston, Missouri, officiating.
