Nancy Jones
SIKESTON — Nancy Skrabala Jones, 60, of Sikeston died of pancreatic cancer at Saint Francis Medical Center on Aug. 8, 2024.
She was born in Sikeston in 1964 to the late Miloslav Skrabala and Wava Smith Skrabala. She graduated high school in 1981. Nancy worked as a pharmacy tech for many years, making countless lifelong friends during that time. She married Dr. Gordon Jones in 2004. They were married for 19 years until his recent death.
Nancy loved to spend her days on Current River, and was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Gordon Jones; her father, Miloslav “Joe” Skrabala; and her sister, Mary Jane Skrabala.
She is survived by her mother, Wava Smith Skrabala of Sikeston; her daughter, Mary (Trenton) Sanders of O'Fallon, Missouri; three stepsons, Benjamin (Catherine) Jones of Cheverly, Maryland, Dr. Peter (Nichole) Jones of Portland, Oregon, and Dr. Charles (Lauren) Jones of Kirkwood, Missouri; and two sisters, Jennifer (Tony) Seabaugh of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and Laura (Larry) Ivie of Diehlstadt, Missouri. She is also survived by three grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren, Reece, Collin and Mila Sanders of O'Fallon; Cooper, Molly, Eli and Andrew Jones of Cheverly; Joi and Bekker Jones of Portland; and Elizabeth and Anna Jones of Kirkwood.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Sikeston.
