Applications for Sikeston Honors Veterans Banner lottery accepted until Sept. 30

SIKESTON — Individuals are encouraged to honor a local veteran by applying for a Sikeston Honors Veterans Banner as applications are currently being accepted for the 2025 lottery drawing.

The veterans’ banners are displayed on light posts at Sikeston Veterans Park for approximately one year from Veterans’ Day. Each veteran’s military biography is also featured on the sikeston.net/veterans-banners website. After the term is complete, the banners are retired and returned to the applicant as a keepsake.

Veterans of all branches of service are eligible to apply. Sikeston Honors Veterans banner applications are available at skeston.net/sikeston-honorsveterans. The deadline to apply for the 2025 lottery drawing is Sept. 30. All applications will be kept on file for future drawings if not drawn this year.
