Illinois man killed in three-vehicle crash on I-57 in Mississippi County

CHARLESTON, Mo. — An Illinois man was killed in a three-vehicle crash Friday, Sept. 13 on Interstate 57 in Mississippi County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 11:15 a.m. on northbound Interstate 57 at the two-mile marker as the southbound vehicle driven by 76-year-old Willie E. Miller of Ullin, Illinois, struck the rear of the southbound vehicle driven by Dustin E. Davis, 36, of Patton, Missouri, before crossing the median and striking the northbound freightliner operated by Kerkoub WelAhmedou, 26, of Dearborn, Michigan.

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene by Mississippi County Coroner Terry A. Parker and taken to the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

WelAhmedou’s passenger, Hali A. Goro, 38, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and taken by EMS to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
