Scott County Commission issues burn ban, effective immediately

BENTON, Mo. — The Scott County Commission on Thursday, Sept. 19 issued a burn ban to the citizens of Scott County effective immediately.
“Due to high temperatures, low humidity, dry ground covering and being in a severe drought area with
the possibility of winds and lack of precipitation in the forecast, citizens are ordered to postpone all
outdoor burning activities until further notice,” said Scott County Emergency Management Agency Director John Scott.
